Sunday Ian Corsthwaite and I went to Silver Star for a day of downhilling. It was tremendous! Some of the stunts that I did scared the pants off of me, while others that I rode around were inconceivable. I don’t know why more people don’t die doing many of the built stunts there. Ian and I talked at the end of the day and concluded that one of two things would surely happen if we were to partake in this sort of pastime on a regular basis:1. We would get really crazy good, or, and the more likely option,
2. We would get really injured and broken.
Not to mention that we would be penniless because of the maintenance and wear and tear on the bikes.
My hands, back, and brain are so tired and sore today, but I keep telling myself that it was all worth it. It was great to feel some serious progression as the day went on, as we became more confident and controlled on the jumps and stunts. I would have to say that the coolest stunt of the day was the famous Silver Star wall ride. Ian ripped it from start to finish, while I only had the ability to stay on it for half the prescribed ride. Apparently it was meant to hit it with a lot more speed than I did.
All in all the trails were amazing, forcing us to stay mentally focused and balanced. I can only imagine what the experience would be like been on larger travel bikes.
