So the Christmas season is now upon us, and it has been a month since the last update. The last month has been an incredibly busy one. We have been cross country skiing a bit, when the snow has been cooperative in the Valley. We were at Silver Star a couple weeks ago and had a great time. Pico was in heaven, and got lots of attention as he was styling his new doggy booties. They prevent snow from balling up in between his toes, and make him the envy of all other dogs with his stylish feet. Actually he looks ridiculous. I have also been to the Roger’s Pass again, where we headed up towards Balu Pass for some of the most epic turns in a long time. There had been 60 centimeters of fresh snow in the past two days, which made for waist deep snow. Breaking trail to the top was some of the hardest work I have done in a very long time, and thankfully I was with a group of six very fit people whom ploughed the trail a little more than I did. Loïc took some pictures and video, so I would suggest checking out his webpage to view them. Other fun activities for me include playing squash a couple times a week, and I have recently started swimming again for the first time since I was 11. It feels great to be back in the water, but the fitness and technique are going to take some work. Dee is participating in Boot Camp with some friends. I was a little skeptical when she told me about it, and i thought that it would be a joke. Having watched her come home every night sore and tired and listened to Jim whine about how much work it is, I now have a new found respect for them. Finally of course there has been the constant bouncing from the dog who seems as though he has endless energy and want s to go for walks that span great distances and would cripple any man. I guess he’ll have to settle for walks of an hour or so a night with us.
Time is slipping into the Christmas Season again. As per usual, Dee and I are heading to Penticton to visit mom and dad. There we’ll be cross country skiing, snow shoeing, walking dog, drinking, eating, and lazing around far too much. I hope everyone has a very festive season with full glasses, warm bellies, and smiles on your faces.
