Paddling Arrow Lake - September 15-16

The season wouldn’t be complete without at least one canoe trip, so Mark, Loic, Tess, Jim, Pico and I headed up to Arrow Lake to enjoy one last sunny summer weekend. Jim learned to kayak, Pico learned to swim (and to lie down and NOT tip the canoe) and all of us learned not to question Mark when he says he knows where he is going, because it turns out that SOMETIMES he is right. With no cell reception, Mark, Jim, Tess, Pico and I drove, turned around, drove, turned around, stopped, waited, and finally went back down the original dirt road that appeared to lead to the middle nowhere - only to find Loic (and the camp he very graciously set up for us) waiting at the end. One late night, but the start of one spectacular trip; Complete with rainbow trout, otters, cliff diving, a myriad of stars and of course, great company.
